Institute Of Marketing Malaysia(IMM)’s Fellowship Awards 2016

The Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM) will be organizing a Fellowship Awards 2016, to be held on 23rd April 2016, Saturday at Ballroom I, Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur . These fellowship awards will be presented by Her Royal Highness, the Sultanah of Pahang, Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom who has consented  to grace the occasion as the Royal  Guest of Honour.

This prestigious event is being held in appreciation and to acknowledge IMM members in recognition of their tireless support and contribution towards the growth and development of IMM over the years.

Over the years the IMM has assisted and will continue to assist, train and bring together marketers from various businesses and industries with one common goal and that is to improve the marketing competencies of all its members under the Society’s Act 1979. As such, IMM welcomes everyone with a passion in marketing to be a member of this Institute in ordr to further support, promote and enhance his professionalism in marketing.

In addition, as the national professional body for sales and marketing practitioners, IMM is responsible for the promotion of efficient and effective marketing management practices in Malaysia, the administration of the Institute’s membership, the safeguarding  and advancement of its members’ interest, and the enhancement of the professional image of sales and marketing practitioners.

At the same event, YBhg. Dato’ Sharifah Mohd. Ismail, President of Institute of Marketing Malaysia, will deliver her welcoming address. On the occasion of this Fellowship Awards, IMM is  honoured and privileged in  admitting 16 distinguished marketers  as Fellows of the IMM.

The Honorary Fellowship will be awarded to the Senior Advisor of Open University Malaysia (OUM), Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Anuwar Ali, Director of KPJ Healthcare Berhad, Tan Sri Siti Sa’adiah Sheikh Bakir, President of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology Worldwide, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Lim Kok Wing, Chairman of Air Asia; Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, Chief Executive of Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDN); Kolonel (K) Tan Sri Datuk Wira Dr. Hj. Mohd Shukor Haji Mahfar, Chairman of Nobel International School, Tan Sri Johan Jaafar and Advisor of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad Abdul Majid.

The Fellowship award recepients are: the President of Federation of Malaysian Consumer Association (FOMCA), Professor Datuk Dr. Marimuthu Nadason, Vice President of Community Affairs of Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad, Datuk David Michael Yap, Chief Executive of Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad, Dato’ CM Vignaesvaran Jeyandran, Vice-Chancellor of  Universiti Putra Malaysia, Professor Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris, Deputy  Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Azmi Mohd Lila, Chief Executive Officer of SME Corporation Malaysia, Dato’ (Dr.) Hafsah Hashim, Director of Nanyang Technological University Singapore; Dr. Hooi Den Huan, Chief Executive Officer of Primeworks Studios Sdn Bhd, Ahmad Izham Omar and last but not least, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Plus Malaysia Berhad, Dato’ Noorizah Hj. Abd. Hamid.

Besides, IMM has successfully organized several seminars with world-class speakers from around the globe for the benefit of its members and all Malaysians. The success of the Philip Kotler Seminar organised by IMM in August 2007 is an exemplary effort by a non-profit organization in contributing to human capital development in the country.

Above all, IMM has also organized several marketing seminars by professional speakers and marketing gurus in the names of Philip Kotler (world marketing guru), Christopher Lovelock (world services marketing guru), Ruth Stevens (expert on B-B & Internet Marketing), Scott Friedman (Motivational Humorist/Certified Speaking Professional), Judy Larkin (international guru on risk and reputation management) Hermawan Kartajaya (marketing guru of Asia) and Parasanna Perera (marketing guru of Sri Lanka).

According to Dato’ Sharifah Mohd. Ismail, ”the Institute will continue to work hard not only to deliver benefits to the members but to also respond to the Government’s call for professional bodies and non-government organizations (NGOs) to upgrade and develop human capital in Malaysia. We look forward to become partners in human capital development and nation building”.

The Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM) is the only registered Institute in the country established for the purpose of serving the marketing fraternity in Malaysia. IMM was founded in 1977 by YBM Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah who also became the Institute’s first Patron. Currently the Patron of IMM is YB. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia.
